Every wheel leaving the workshop goes through the same thorough design and building process and is treated the same no matter the budget. Each rim and hub on the bench is measured individually as dimensions often vary from batch to batch. Spoke lengths are then calculated according to the numbers measured and intended lacing patterns and spokes are picked according to the desired ride characteristics of the wheel-set and finally custom cut to a perfect length. After that , spokes are “prepped” to ward off galvanic corrosion and ensure your wheels are serviceable for years to come. Each wheel is then laced, carefully tensioned and stress-relieved multiple times and trued to the best possible tolerances. No “bedding-in” or “touch ups” are necessary. They are built or “hand finished” in factories to various tolerances by workers of different skill levels and different levels of interest in the job bound by the amount of time available in the daily quota. Factory wheels use proprietary parts ,which are often not available after few years or even a single season. Once the rims are worn, sourcing replacements is often difficult and costly. Our wheels are built with tried and tested hubs from long standing manufacturers and are fully serviceable, rebuildable and upgradeable to different standards. Likewise, swapping rims is easily done with many different options available on the market. Even spokes are reuse-able many times over with the same rim and hub combo. When designing our wheels we always strive to pick parts and manufacturers with a proven durability and reliability to make sure your wheels roll for years down the line.We feel that this is definitely a positive and important factor in today’s throwaway culture.
